Holiday season 2016 will not and should not look and feel like a holiday season any other year. Unfortunately, that is because many families are now torn apart, and many people do not know how they will be able to sit at the same table with family members who seem to have such a vastly different view on life, our country and our planet.
But this holiday season we also have a chance to channel our anger, fear, sadness and frustration into action. Inspired by the brilliant John Oliver, whose video here I strongly recommend you take the time to watch, we encourage you to do the following:
Instead of spending money on buying your friends and relatives gifts, please consider donating to one of the many charities and organizations which will be on the front lines fighting to protect our rights, freedoms and values from a hateful and bigoted administration. You can donate in your friends’ and family members’ names as your gift to them. That could work wonderfully if your friend or family member is a progressive who is overwhelmed with tough emotions right now, and it can especially work wonderfully if your friend or family member voted for the forces of evil and you are looking for a way to send them a clear message of where your values lie.
Another great idea is giving your friends and relatives subscriptions to real newspapers that practice real investigative journalism. Not only will we need our news media to be our watchdog now more than ever, but also our very fundamentally democratic freedom of the press is being threatened. Support newspapers like The New York Times, The Washington Post and ProPublica by purchasing a subscription for yourself and others. This will not only fortify our press, but will make sure that you and your loved ones (or ones who desperately need it) get your information from reliable sources who report FACTS, rather than simply from biased and unreliable social media sources.
This holiday/shopping season, please use your money for good. Use your money to help us all.
Below you will find links to articles that list the various organizations you might want to help. If you still require assistance or need ideas, guidance or help finding resources, please don’t hesitate to ask us.
And if you want to put a smile on our faces, please write to us and let us know that you donated this holiday season.
Upon special request, here is a special bonus “Wentworth” poll!
This is it, “Wentworth” fans! The season is officially over. And while there’s another Talking Teal episode to plan (and email for!), where we will talk all about episode 12 (so email us your thoughts specifically about episode 12 by Saturday, July 30, at 2pm EST, as usual), it is also time to get the wrap party started. The party will take place on Sunday, August 7th. And here are the THREE THINGS we ask of YOU, our partygoers!
FIRST, WE ASK THAT YOU ALL FILL OUT THIS BALLOT. Please copy and paste it into an email and fill out AS MANY OR AS FEW QUESTIONS as you wish. Of course, it would be great if you could answer them all. Then email them to LadyPartsVlog at Gmail.com as soon as you can. Final deadline for ballots is Saturday, August 6, at 2pm EST. (If you are having any trouble copying and pasting this, please let me know and I will help you out).

SECOND, we hope that you are working on your personal contribution to the Talking Teal party. Please send us any kind of written, visual and/or aural contribution that will demonstrate and celebrate your feelings for “Wentworth” and/or “Talking Teal.” It can be a video of you re-enacting your favorite scene, a picture of you (or your pet!) dressed as your favorite character, a poem you wrote, a rap you recorded, or it can simply be a little note to express your feelings (it would be great if it could be taped, either an audio or video recording, so that it would feel more personal). It can be anything that you come up with. Be creative, be emotional, be anxious — or be all of the above! Please email those to LadyPartsVlog at Gmail.com as soon as you can. The final deadline is Saturday, August 6th, at 2pm EST. (If you need to send a big file via a third-party website, please email me first and let me know. If you don’t know how to send a big file, please email me and I will help you out).
THIRD, get your PJ picture ready! You’ve asked for it to be a pajama party, shot from our bedroom, and we’re game! But what’s a party without partygoers? So get your PJ pictures ready and share them on Twitter/Instagram when you watch the party Vlog!
If at any point you need help with any of these or have any questions, please let us know. If you have other ideas for the party, also, please let us know.
We are looking forward to celebrating the conclusion of a great Talking Teal season with our fabulous fans… that’s YOU!
